SEVENTH ANNUAL MEETL.j The Wangaehu branch of the Women’s Division of the Harmers' Union helds it seventh annual meeting on Tuesday, April 26. Mrs. Anderson, president, presided. Members present were, Mesdames W. Baldwin, Grant, Humphries, Honeyman, Jones, Mackintosh, Mercer, O’Henry, Olsen and Peffers, and Miss Baker. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Mesdames C. Baldwin, Holmes, Johns, Liggins and Misses Castles, A motion of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Mrs. Cavanagh, who passed away this week, and to ail those who had suffered bereavement during the past year; members standing in silence. Minutes of the last anual meeting were read and confirmed, and the treasurer, Mrs. Mackintosh read her financial statement, which showed a satisfactory balance. Mrs. Anderson gave a brief resume of the work of the Housekeepers’ Auxiliary, and the good work done by the housekeepers. The president's report stated that the monthly meetings were held except in the busiest summer months and were well attended. A new plan was tried this year, two members being responsible each meeting for the arranging of competitions and demonstrations. This considerably lightened the load for the president, and helped to spread interest, as well as giving individual members a chance to pull their weight in helping the division along. The community chest benefited to the amount of £lO as a result of the fortnightly euchre parties held during the winter. Mrs. McLean (provincial president) visited the branch in July and gave an interesting talk on conference. Knitting and dahlia competitions had created much interest, and many instructive demonstrations were given. Points were given throughout the year for all competitions, the prize being won by Mrs. Grant and Mrs. Holmes second. The Blind Institute, Makagoi Lepers and R.S.A. were all assisted in various ways during the year. Thanks were expressed to officers and committee for their loyal support, and to the auditor, Mr. Grant. The president referred to her happy two years of office and the spirit of friendship which is a very great thing in the division. She wished the branch every success and hoped the incoming president would be given the same loyal support as she had received. There are some whom circumstances prevent from taking a very active part, but never let it be forgotten, that it is the greatest help just to have their presence at meetings and their interest in our work when they can give it. Every little help is greatly appreciated by the president, so do not be discouraged if you can only attend sometimes, but be interested at all times. Mrs. Anderson was accorded a vote of thanks, which was carried with acclamation. The election ot officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: president, Mrs. L. Mackintosh; secretary, Mrs A. Peffers (re-elected); treasurer, Mrs. I. Grant; vice-presidents, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. W. Baldwin and Mi. Baker; committee, president, vicepresidents, secretary, treasurer, and Mesdames Holmes, Olsen and Miss Castles; delegates, Mesdames W.
