'TOWNSPEOPLE and politicians are blamed by a South Island grazier for the decline in the qualify of New Zealand sheep. It must be remembered, however, that the shcepfarmers of Timaru will have much to answer for when the deterioration of pearl buttons manufactured in Whitechapel comes up for consideration, and when the pastoralists in the Lena Valley, in Northern Siberia, state their case, the Indians of Patagonia, will tremble for past misdeeds. But what is going to be said to the Chicago policemen who have devastated the North of Auckland districts, where the Kauri gum industry once flourished simply by the said policemen parking their gum and chewing toothpicks instead? Really, there is quite a lot of blame to be applied if one seeks in odd sorts of vfln'Ts*
