LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE GAINS WIPE OUT LOSSES (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 23. There has seldom been a more extraordinary day on the Stock Exchange, which opened in the deepest gloom, and it was almost impossible to sell stocks. The sentiment suddenly turned and in the afternoon traders found an almost equal difficulty in buying. The rises wiped out the initial losses and in some cases carried shares above overnight levels. .The steadiness of metals and other commodities helped towards a confident feeling. BETTER TENDENCY IN PARIS PARIS, Nov, 23. A better tendency is appard.it on the Bourse. French shares opened steadil yand advanced throughout the day. HUGE LOSSES PRICES PLUNGE AGAIN Received Nov. 24, 9.50 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 24. The Daily Herald says that prices again plunged on the Stock Exchange. The estimated total loss in London industrial shares in 1937 will be £2,500,000,000, or almost one-third of Britain’s national debt.
