GERMAN REASSERTS THRUST AT BRITAIN (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright! Received Nov. 7, 6.5 p.m. BERLIN, Nov. 5. Remarking that he had no sensations to announce, Dr. Goebbels told 17,000 that the world was only surprised at Germany’s action because it did not know Germany. Since October 1, 1933, Germany had not paid a red cent in respect of her Versailles obligation. If other countries had not pressed for payment it was because they knew the answer would want them lose sight and hearing. Europe had to realise that Versailles was dead. Herr Hitler had rendered a great service to the world in tearing it up page by page. Dr. Goebbels said that if the world was stupid enough to allow file Bolshevik experiment .0 succeed in Spain they must know that Germany would not tolerate it. Apart from attacks on the foreign Press, Roman Catholicism, the opposition in the Church and Russia, tiic speech had no fireworks. He predicted that Germany would be self-sufficient in two or three years. After admitting a scarcity of foodstuffs, Dr. Goebbels declared: How different was the position of wealthy Great Britain and wealthy France. They possess whole continents and they are living in abundance, yet they tell us Germany has the highest standard of living. In Germany there prevails at least law and order. Here no one needs to sleep on the pavements and cover himself with newspapers.
