OXFORD APPEAL

RESOURCES INADEQUATE [ British Official Wireices.] RUGBY, Nov. 5. The vice-chancellor of Oxford University, in an official statement, explained the position with regard to the Oxford appeal fund. Gifts, amounting to £421,000, had been received in response to the appeal made nine months ago, and some needs had been fully met by this means and by specific benefactions of Lord Nuffield and others, but the resources of the university were still inadequate, and it was hoped to raise another £BO,OOO as soon as possible.
