TRIAL CONCLUDES

FORMER LODGE SECRETARY EMBEZZLEMENT AND FALSE ENTRIES [ Per Press Association. ] DUNEDIN, Oct. 27. The trial was concluded to-day of Roy Drummond Bachop, former secretary of the Triumph Lodge No. 9 Protestant Alliance Friendly Society of Australasia on fifteen charges involving theft of funds belonging to the lodge, and falsification of balancesheets, before Mr Justice Kennedy, in the Supreme Court. Eight of the counts were in respect of the embezzlement, between June 1935, and March, 1937, of a total sum of £164 15s 2d, the remaining seven covering the making of false entries in bal-ance-sheets. Accused was found guilty on all counts and remanded for sentence on Friday.
