LONDON MARKETS QUIET The butter market in London was quieter at the end of last week according to a report received by the Primary Products Marketing Department. Friday’s closing quotations, with those for the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: New Zealand: Salted, 130 s (127 s to 128 s; a year ago, 100 s to 102 s); unsalted, 130 s to 131 s (128 s Australian: Salted, 130 s (127 s to 128 s). i - Danish: 118 s f.0.b., 139 S to 140 s spot (118 s 139 s to 140 s). Dutch: Unsalted, 129 s (124 s to 128 s). Lithuanian: Unsalted, 128 s (1265). The retail price of New Zealand butter was increased to Is 4d, and that of Danish to Is 5d a lb. The cheese market was quiet. Friday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand: White, 70s 6d to 71s (70s to 70s 6d; a year ago, 69s 6d to 70s); coloured, 70s (69s to 69s 6d; a year ago, 665). Canadian: White, 70s to 71s (70s to 71s); c.i.f., 69s 6d (68s); old season’s white, 82s (80s); coloured, 88s 6d. English finest farmers’, 90s (90s to 925).
