WANGANUI AERO CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD INCREASE IN SUBSCRIPTIONS There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Aero Club in the clubhouse at the airport on Saturday afternoon. Mr. A. S. Burgess presided. In reviewing the past year, the president referred to the improvements made to the golf course and to the aerodrome and expressed the club’s thanks to Mr. J. S. Harrison and the City Council’s engineer, Mr. L. F, Row. Mr. Burgess also extended his thanks to the club’s engineer, Mr. F. Rowan, and complimented the practical farmers on the committee on their good work during the year. On the motion of Mr. J. R. Franklin, it was decided to increase the membership fee for active members to £2 2s and for honorary members to £1 Is. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. H. Y. Lethbridge; president, Mr. A. S. Burgess; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. J. Rogers, N. G. Armstrong, W. A. Veitch, A. G. Bignell, N. R. Bain, F. Webb Jones and Hope Gibbons; general committee, Messrs. H. K. Christie, J. S. Harrison, J. Peat, J. R. Franklin, E. J. Strachan, C. P. Brown, D. M. Lethbridge, A. Tasker, G. S. Mitchell, J. Aidworth and K. Congreve; club captain, Mr. E. J. Strachan; hon. medical officer, Dr. H. K. Christie; hon. solicitor, Mr. C. P. Brown; auditor, Mr. R. M. Finlayson.
