INTER-CLUB MATCHES

WANGANUI AND CASTLECLIFF aPATEA AND BELMONT An inter-club match was played on Saturday afternoon between the Wanganui and Castlecliff Clubs, the seniors playing at Belmont and the juniors at Castlecliff. The Wanganui seniors won 11 matches and lost 8, one match being halved. In the junior match Wanganui won 9 matches and lost 7, three matches finishing all square. In the aggregate Wanganui won 20 matches and Castlecliff 15, four games finishing all square. U. G. Williams produced some of his old form to win from Cathro 2 up and one to play. Going out in approximately 40, Williams came home in 32, his inward card reading 352443434. A highlight in the game was a half in two at the 12th. L. AIRPORT CLUB DRAW FOR TO-MORROW To-morrow the Castlecliff and Airport Golf Clubs are having a one-day i tournament at the latter club’s links. The ladies with 16 handicap and under will play in the men’s competitions, and they will be allowed an extra six strokes handicap. At 9.15 a nine-hole handicap will be played, followed by an approaching competition. As players arrive they will be sent off In threes.
