Mr. D. E. Dustin has been nominated as an assessor on behalf of the Wanganui district at the forthcoming conference regarding the clerical workers’ dispute. Mr. A. G. Mac Kay was elected a life member of the Seafield Golf Club last night at the annual meeting of members, warm tribute being paid to the valued services he has rendered the club over a lengthy period. Eulogistic reference was made by > members of the Seafield Golf Club at the annual meeting last night to the work done during the past season by the retiring secretary, Mr. F. E. Smith, and regret was expressed at his decision not to seek re-election owing to pressure of business. It was ' decided to place on record apprecia- • tion of his services.
