A visit to M. McKinnon’s, needlework specialist, 126 a Victoria Avenue, will afford delight to all lovers of exclusive needlework art. This shop is known far and wide for its exquisite work and just now there are some enticing ideas for Christmas gifts. Biscuits and Cookies. Suitable for an afternoon tea table are the hand-made delicious biscuits and cookies packed in hygienic wrapping. They are a feature at Dustin’s and included in the large assortment are Barlene health biscuits. New Goods at J. Williams and Co. For a wedding or Christmas gift what could be a lovlier present than one of the new dressing table sets of brush, comb and hand-mirror at J. Williams and Co., jewellers. One set, with bronze filagree is inset with a hand-painted miniature, another is in the latest glass. There arc other designs equally attractive and in shades to match any colour scheme. Some sets have a powder bowl to match Beautiful Pottery. Some really exquisite pottery has arrived at Nettleship’s, Jewellers, and is now on show in their window. Beautiful vases in new shapes, quaint ornaments in Era ware and Lancaster pottery are seen in delightful designs. Old English scenes decorate cake and savoury dishes, also sandwich trays in the same ware. An Isis ware tea set is very attractive. Unusual 1) gus in Wristlet Watches. There's something new and alluring in the latest designs in ladies’ wristlet watches to be seen at Drew’s, Jewellers. They are in unusual shapes in chromium and gold. Gold bangles are very fashionable and to supply the demand for them this firm has stocked a good selection. Among other suggestions for Yuletide gifts arc pearl necklets of lovely designs, or crystal necylets. Looking round the wellstocked showroom I noticed an excellent collection of scent sprays, including a model of one chosen by Queen Mary at the British Exhibition. For the menfolk there are numerous suggestions lor presents. To mention a few there are cuff links in solid gold, also 10-year quality rolled gold, cigarette cases in silver or rolled gold, pen-
cil sets, beautiful inkstands and folding clocks.
