UPPER WAITOTARA
SPINSTERS’ BALL. The Upper Waitotara spinsters' ball held on November 14, was a great success. The hall was tastefully decorated with ferns and flowers, a feature being the coloured lights arranged by Messrs. Washington and Watkins. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr. W. Cowan, senr. Air. Dallison, in a neat speech, thanked the spinsters for an enjoyable evening. Splendid music was supplied by the Soprani Serenaders' Orchestra. Dancing was kept going till the early hours, the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” bringing to a close a really delightful evening. Among those "present were Mesdames Al. Ross, brown frock; L. Kerse, floral silk; E. Rowe, black frock; E. Hutchins, pink silk; J. Roberstein, blue silk; E. Cowan, red lace; G. Roberstein, green lace; Al. Reid, black frock; D. Roberstein, blue satin; J.
