BROTHERHOOD

THE ANNUAL. MEETING There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Brotherhood, held on Tuesday evening. Mr. Lunnon presided. Various reports submitted were of a satisfactory nature. Meetings have been held regularly, and the thanks of the Brotherhood are due to the following speakers, singers, and accompanist:—His Worship the Mayor, Mr. W. J. Rogers, Dr. Ulric Williams, Canon W. G. Williams, Mr. Arthur Douglass, Major Hawkins, Mr. Harry Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. A. Hague, Rev. H. Ashworth, Rev. H. Burley, Rev. G. N. Garlick, Mr. J. A. Caldwell, Mr. T. Dutch, Mr. G. Lunnon, Mr. E. E. Gregory, Chaplain Fraser. Soloists: Madame Edmondson, Rev. H. Ashworth, Miss Joyce Reynolds, Miss Phillips, Miss Wright. Miss Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Hague, Miss L. Cornish, Mrs. L. Moore, Mr R. Ashworth, and Wanganui Mouth Organ Band. The benefit concert held proved most satisfactory and the receipts from all sources amounted to £9 15s 6d, and expenditure £2 Us Id. It was decided to allocate £2 each to the Hessell and Lawrence funds. It was resolved to carry on the . meetings regularly for the summer months and to enter into contracts with the “Chronicle" and Herald for advertisements in the religious column. The following officers were elected: President, Bro. E. E. Gregory; vicepresidents, Bros. F. W. Ansley, G. Lunnon, Walford, and Randall; chaplain, Chaplain Fraser; steward, Bro. A. French; secretary’ and treasurer, Bro. F. W. Ansley. A successful meeting -was closed by prayer by the president.
