FOUR MEN FINED I Per Press Aesoclatton. 1 WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. Stated by Mr R. A. Cooper, for the City Council, to be the first prosecution under the Motor Vehicle Amendment Act, 1936. Patrick Joseph Boyle was charged before Mr Ferner, S.M., 1 with exceeding a speed of 30 m.p.h. on the Hutt Road. Mr Cooper pointed out that the Act imposed a limit of 30 m.p.h. in boroughs. A penalty of 10s and costs was imposed, the maglstate saying that the case would serve as a warning. Three other similar offenders were similarly punished.
