DIVERS—MILLER

On June 18, in St. Andrew’s Pre

byterian Church, Marton, Mary Logan, second daughter of Air and Mrs Peter Miller, Marton, and Stanley Roberts, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. R. Divers were married by Rev. C. W. Watt, of Turakina. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a slim-fitting gown of ivory satin with a long rounded train. The long tight-fitting sleeves were rounded over the hands and tdie cowl neckline joined the bodice in a leaf design. The long tulle veil worn over the face was fastened to the head with a coronet of seed-pear Is and orangeblossom buds and fell over the frock to form a second train. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet, of white chrysanthemums, freesias, jonquils and white heather with long ivory satin streamers. The only bridesmaid, Miss E. Stuart, Marton, wore a slim fitting frock of Marina blue georgette. The short puffed sleeves were of georgette- flowers and the cowl neck was also finished with flowers. The skirt swept into a circular train and was finished with georgette flowers. She wore silver kid shoes and her hat was of Marina blue felt turned off the face and fastened with velvet of the same shade. The bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums, freesias, and pink heath, with long sili ver streamers. Air Alan W. Scott, Masderton, was best. man. During the signing of the register, Miss Kalinin Fairchild, Masterton, sang ‘ 1 Jerusalem.’ > Airs Miller received her guests at the reception wearing a black tweed frock smartly cut and trimmed with white, blaiek fur-trimmed coat, black velvet hat and gloves, and her bouquet was of violets and scarlet berries. Airs Divers, mother of the bridegroom, wore navy pebble satin, navy tailored coat and peach bloom velour hat to match. Her bouquet was of bronze chrysanthemums and fern. All of the bouquets were made and presented by Miss Ata vis Lovell, Marton. Air and Airs Stan. Divers left later by car for a motor tour, Mrs Divers travelling in a navy tailored costume, navy hat and shoes. CAREY—GREEN A pretty evening wedding, of wide interest, was solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Marton, on June 24, when Edna Rita, eldest daughter of Air. and Airs. H. R. Green, “Oakview,” Kairanga, was married to Gifford Henry, second son of Air. and Airs. R. H. Carey, of Alarton. Rev. F. O. Ball officiated at the ceremony and Air. Holmes Runnicles presided at the organ. Gowned in magnolia satin beaute the bride made a lovely picture as she entered the church, escorted by her father. Her wedding robe was cut on classocal lines with a panelled skirt falling into a long train and a high shirred neckline finished with a spray of orange blossoms and silver shoes were also worn. A sheaf of white freesias, camellias, Christmas roses, maiden-hair fern and asparagus fern tied with white ribbon completed the charming toilette. The bridesmaids, Alisses Olive and Joyce Green (sisters of the bride) were frocked alike in gold uncrushable cloque, deeply shirred and slim-fitting with panelled skirts forming graceful trains. The necklines were prettily draped to form soft bc-ws which were lined with green and finished with sprays of green flowers. The bodices were slashed to the waistlines at the back and fastened with loops and tiny green buttons, while the sleeves were pleated to the elbows forming a bell shape at the wrist. Gold toques with frilled veils and matching green shoes were also worn and each maid carried a sheaf of gold freesias, gold narcissi, maiden-hair fern and asparagus fern

with ribbons to tone. Air. A. Pedersen, of Ohakea, capably carried out the duties of best man while Air. R. Still, of Alartc-n, was the

groomsman. After the ceremony about 150 guests were entertained at a reception held at Alessrs. Collinson and Cuuniughame's tearooms, where Airs. Green, assisted by Airs. Carey, received the guests. Airs.

Green was attired in a graceful gown of black georgette and lace, with a black fur felt hat and shoulder spray while Airs. Carey chose a smart navy blue costume, with matching felt hat and shoulder spray. Later when Air. and Airs. G. H. Carey left by car, the latter travelled in a navy blue tailored costume, navy blue hat and accessories to tone. The young couple will make thenfuture home in Napier. Among the guests were Air. and Mrs. Frecklington (Ohakea); Airs. C. Tarrant (Sydney); Air. and Airs. F. Waite (Hawke’s Bay); Airs. Russell Green (Thames); Air. and Airs. C. Robertson (Wellington); Mrs. R. and N. Green (Thames); Miss T. Green (Tihoe); Air. and Airs. Clapham (Kimbolton).
