At the New Zealand Educational In>c£ut* the Dirtctor of Education (Mr nambourne) gave a b review of teaching methods abroad. He said that one of the chief weakncsi.e«s in New Zealand was the lack of wellstocked libraries and suitable reading material. Over the whole uf England an average of 5s 8d per cnild was allowed for books and consumable material. He said that he hoped that it would be possible to develop the library system in New Zealand with the cooperation of municipal libraries.
