DISASTER IN AMERICA ELEVEN PERSONS KILLED [By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) Received April 8, 11.50 p.m. NEW YORK, April 7. Eleven persons were killed to-day when a trans-Continentai air liner, after leaving Newark airport, crashed near Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Bad weather, which caused ice formation on the wings, and radio trouble, are believed to have been responsible for the A check of the casualties revealed that the wife of Newark’s Mayor, Airs Ellenstein. is one of the two survivors, although she is seriously injured.
