A case of remarkable courage, despite physical incapacity, has been recognised by the trustees of the Carnegie Hero Fund in an award to Alfred Brennan, of Thurso, the one-legged man who last .September rescued a w-oman bather to whom a lifebelt had been thrown, but who was drifting out to cca.
