THE NEW YEAR

WATCH-NIGHT SERVICE. [ British Official Wirelesa. ] RUGBY, Dec. 27. The annual New Year celebrations associated with St. Paul’s Churchyard will this year take a more organised form as a result of a movement initiated by the Dean of St. Paul’s (Dr. W. R. Matthews). Preceding the watch-night service in the Cathedral, which will be conducted by the Dean and broadcast through loud-speakers in the churchyard, the crowds assembled *here will take part in community singing, and will be addressed shortly by Canon H. P. L. Shepherd.
