OBITUARY

RIGHT HON. HENRY BURTON LONDON, Dec. 26. The death has occurred of the Right Hon. Henry Burton, aged 69, of South Africa, who’ was politically a staunch Imperialist. During the World War he was twice torpedoed in liners. The Right Hon. Henry Burton, P.C., was born in Capetown in 1866. He was educated at St. Andrew's College, Grahamstown. He was Minister for Native Affairs from 1910 to 1912, Minister of Railways and Harbours, 191220, and Minister of Finance, 1916-17, 1920-24, in the Union of South Africa. In 1918 he was a member of the Imperial Economic Conference. He was also Attorney-General for the Cape of Good. Hope.
