GALLANT BOY SCOUT

SILVER CROSS AWARDED. [ Per Frosfl Association. ] HAMILTON, Aug. 27. A fourteen-year-old boy, Charles John Cook, a member of the Claudelands Roy Scout Troop, has been awarded the silver cross for gallantry by the Dominion Council Boy Scout Association. Cook, who also received the Royal Humane Society's certificate, swam in all 600 yards in a treacherous sea to rescue a boy, Bruce Rennie, at Cheltenham bea n h, Auckland, on January 31.
