OBITUARY

MRS JAMES WAY. Another link in the early history of Taranaki was severed on Friday evening when the death occurred of Airs. Eleanor Way. relict of the late Mr. James Way, of New Plymouth. Her death took place at. the residence of her daughter. Mrs. R. Evans, of Newmarket, Auckland, and she was in her 92nd year. On July 13 last, Mrs. Way celebrated her 91st birthday and was the recipient of a number of congratulatory messages and remembrances of her long life in the Dominion. Shortly afterwards a heart attack followed and lhe deceased lady passed peacefully away on Friday evening. The late Airs Way arrived at the New Plymouth roadstead on the ship Ilanabal, and was conveyed to the landing in the surf boat. With the exception of a short period in Marlborcugb, ami latterly in Auckland, the remainder of her life was spent in New Plymouth, where she was a devout member of the congregation of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, and highly respected by those with whom she was acquainted. In 1563 she was married to Air. T. Jordan,, of Liverpool, and after his death left for New Zealand with four children, of whom Mr. Thomas Jordan, of Halcombe, ami Airs. R. Evans, of Newmarket, arc the surviving members. In 1891 she mar ried the late Mr. .lames Way. Messrs. Alfred, Harry, William (New Ph mouth . Arthur < Marton >, Ernest CFeilding), and Mrs. J.
