HUNT CLUB PROTESTS
RULE AGAINST TROTTING EVENT [ Per Press Association. J TIMARU, July 19. The committee of’tke Sc-uth Canterbury Hunt to-day decided tu protest against the action- of the Racing Conference in deciding that alter January 1,193 G, no hunt club include a trotting e\*ent- at, a totalisator meeting. It was felt that the South Canterbury
Hunt was obliged io consider the interests of farmers over whose country they hunted and to stage a trotting race, especially as jumping and hunters’ events are so well catered for on the pre-giamme. It is considered that the hunt clubs concerned should have been consulted before the resolution was passed, and it was decided to ask the Christchurch, Waimate, Otago and Birchwood Hunts to be associated with the pretest.
