No reports have been received indicating any -cessation of work in other cities or towns. The employers sent a letter to the union expressing regret that the offer of a five per cent, increase and other concessions had been rejected and had been followed by a strike. The Evening Post to-day consisted of six pages containing cables,, telegrams and local news.

No difficulties were experienced in producing the Christchurch newspapers to-day.
