THE “BIG THREE”
AGRICULTURAL BILL FRUIT BOARD'S ATTITUDE WILL TAKE NO ACTION. ( Per Press Association ). HASTINGS, Nov. 5. A statement that, the New Zealand Fruit Control Board has decided to take no action in regard to the Agricultural Amendment (Emergency) Bill was made by Mr. Ralph Paynter, chairman of the board, when speaking at a meeting of fruitgrowers in Hastings. “The board has decided to take no action,” said Mr. Paynter. “The Big Three will have wide powers, but it is quite possible that some alterations will bo made in the committee stages. Per sonally, I. think Ihe fruitgrowers would be well advised to the matter alone. The Bill has not. yet passed the committee stage, and there is every likelihood of alterations being made to
