NEW BROADCASTING STATION

SITE PURCHASED AT DUNEDIN ( Per Press Association ). WELLINGTON, July 4. It is announced by the general manager of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, Mr. E. C. Hands, that the board is purchasing a property at Highcliffe, about six miles from Dunedin, on the Otago Peninsula, on which to erect a modern transmitting station to serve the Otago area. The property was chosen after the engineers had made actual transmitting tests from a number of sites near Dunedin.
