GOLF NOTES. The bogey competition played last week-end again saw all players keen to take part. It is pleasing to see the first season players so keen, and it was fitting to see one of them lead the field in the bogey competition. The best cards returned were L. Sissons, 2 up; N. Fookes, 1 down; R. O’Callaghan, 1 down; A. F. McKenzie and •I. Alortland, 3 down. The majority of other players would sooner not have their scores published. Another medal competition will be played next week-end, the following being the draw:—McKinnin and Powell, Hay and McClure, Joblin and Kincaird, Hamill and Jarnos, O’Callaghan and Reece, Evans and J. P. Mortland, A. F. McKenzie and S. W. Hamill, Coutts and Seccombe, Auld and Scorer, Kronfold and Quork, Sissons and Sexton. Bray and O’Keefe, W. H. Fookes and iDymock. McDonald and Donne, Sinclair and Price, Nicholls and Beban, .Tones and Durrant, Hintz and Scorer. The match committee hope to have the draw, for the “Knock-out” competition posted in the club house for next week-end. Beginners arc asked to take particular note of the conditions of this competition, which will also be posted with the draw. As there is a big list of entries, for this competition, it is quite possible that two separate competitions will be played. The following handicaps have been reduced: L. Sissons to 32, N. Fookes to 34. Replace the Turf.—The neglect of players to replace the turf i s becoming very serious. The course is becoming terribly scarred, and unless players pay more attention to this “duty to their club,” they will soon have portions of the course unplayable. Every divot means an unplayable lie, so “protect your own property and replace the turf.” The following new members have been elected:—lL S. Treadwell, Mrs. J. Thompson, Miss D. Mortland. Schoolboys and girls will be admitted for 10s 6d. Such players can play at, any time except on club days. A local tournament, will be played on .Tune 3 and 4.
