RS.A. A meeting of the committee of the R.S.A. was held in the Bulls on Friday evening, five members being present. After routine business had been conducted a report of the sale of poppies was presented, the total of which was £l3 17s. Considering the stress of the times this is a very satisfactory' result, and the thanks of the committee are due to all who sold poppies, and also to the public for their generous response to the appeal. As there are a number of returned soldiers here who are unemployed, this will be a big help to them during the winter months. As the membership in this district is now 40, the branch is entitled to two representatives on the Marton executive. Mr. W. A. Churchill is already a representative, and it was unanimously decided to appoint Mr. J. Cam>on to the second position. Various other matters of importance were dealt with, and final arrangements were made for the social evening to be held in the Town Hall supper roomon Wednesday, May 12. All diggers arc asked to remember the date, and to roll up for a good evening’s entertainment. A good programme has been arranged, and the guest of the evening will be Mr. B. J. Jacobs, of Palmerston North, a Dominion vice-president of the association, and an entertainer worth listening to; MINIATURE R.C. FIXTURES. In order to relievo miniature rifle clubs of the expense of long-distance travelling this season the Manawatu M. R. Association has divided the district into three sections; northern, southern and central. Three clubs in Manawatu will comprise, the northern section viz., Bulls, Ohakea and Sandon, and the fixtures drawn up are as follows: First round.—Friday, May 12: Bulls v. Ohakea; Sandon a bye. Second round.—Friday, May 26: Ohakea v. Sandon; Bulls a bye. Third round.— Friday, June 9: Sandon v. Bulls; Ohakea a bya. Fourth round.—Friday, June 23: Ohakea v. Bulls; Sandon a bye. Fifth round.—Friday, July 7: Sandon v. Ohakea; Bulls a bye. Sixth round. —Friday, July 21: Bulls v. Sandon; Ohakea a bye. Seventh round.— Friday, August 4: Bulls v. Ohakea; Sandon a bye. Eighth round.—Friday, August 18: Sandon v. Ohakea; Bulls a bye. Ninth round.—Friday, September!: Bulls v. Sandon. The first-mentioned clubs are to travel, but the last three matches are to be shot on ranges decided upon by the clubs concerned. The winners of the southern and central sections are to shoot off before September 2 for the Hansen and City Cups. The winner of the combined section is to shoot off with th© winner of the northern section before September 15. Jones and Collinson Shield matches will be fired at Awahuri on Friday. June 30, and Friday, September 15. The association championship meeting will be held at Sandon on Wednesday, September 6, , shooting to start at. 1 p.m.
