To-day a match will be played between Patea and Waverley ladies. At a meeting of the ladies’ com mittec last Tuesday, it was decided that seniors should play with juniors every second Friday, in order to give the junior plapers some encouragement and coaching. In the matter of playing for L.G.U. competitions, it was that the players should be divided into three divisions, seniors into an A and B grade, the A grade being players with 23 handicaps and over, and a C grade. Two of these competitions an to be held this month, when golf balls are to be given as trophies, one for each division. ELECTION DAY Election day for municipal representation on the Patea Harbour Board passed very quietly in Waverley, the very heavy rain keeping many from recording their vote. Only some 100 voted at the polling booth, the Town Board rooms, Air. Southcombe gaining 35, and Mr. William Back 30, Air. F. Parsons 22, and Air. G. Pettigrew. Informal 22. These positions were upheld by the voting at Patea, and as a result Messrs. Southcombe and Back will take the seats on the Harbour Board formerly occupied by Afessrs. Hodge and Williams, who retired. These two seats represent the Palea Borough and the Waverley Town Board districts.
