W.C.T.U. CONVENTION • Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL. March 20. I The Dominion Convention of the ( W.C.T.U. was continued to-day. Mrs. Perryman was appointed editor of the White Ribbon for the 2.lst. time. The following resolutions were passed:—(l) That a vigorous protest be made against the loan of £BOOO from the Unemployment Fund to assist in the rebuilding of the Napier Hotel; (2) that the attention of the Government be drawn to the iniquitous handicap imposed upon women of small incomes by requiring the payment of ibe unemployment tax upon incomes of over £2O; and that an exemption of £52 be suggested; (3) that the Government be urged to restore 2s 6d per week which is being deducted from the old age pension; (4) that the Education Department be urged to include temperance lessons in the school journal; (5) that an active house-to-house canvassing campaign be inaugurated by ihe W.C.T.U. in order to revive enthusiasm in the movement for the abolition of the sale and use of alcoholic liquors. =
