UNWELCOME STOWAWAYS
PROBLEM FOR SHIP S CAPTAIN. HOW TO RID HIMSELF OF THEM LONDON, March 19. The captain of the Latvian grain bhip Curonia is vainly endeavouring tc rid himself of three Polish stowaways whom he has carried to various parts <-f the world since they were discovered at Algiers at Christmas. The authorities at ail ports refused to allow them to land, while the Argentina insisted that the captain should deposit £4OO on their account, which he can not recover until he produced a certi ficate showing that he nas disembarged the stowaways in Europe. The steamei has now sailed for Cardiff from Cork where the police goaled the stowaways politely returning them before the ves sei sailed. The captain hopes the Polish representative in England will solve the problem. The stowaways meanwhile declare themselves content.
