WANGANUI ASSOCIATION the ANNUAL MEETING * PAST YEAR REVIEWED 44 We hope that the season will be a most successful one, and by the large attendance it seems to augur that the young men are going to take a keen interest in cricket,” said Mr J. The annual report of the management committee was as follows: 4 4 Although the season was a very trying one, the Association nevertheless have emerged with a surplus of assets over liabilities to the amount of £2l 19s fid. A New Zealand cricket representative team went home last season and J. L. Kerr, of the Wanganui Technical College, was chosen in the team. The committee desires to congratulate him on his performance. Although his average in iirst class matches was only 22.97, nevertheless it was very creditable for so young a player, and especially as it was his first attempt in first class matches in England. The committee would also like to congratulate C. S. Dempster and R. C. Blunt for their very fine performances during the tour. These two batsmen again finished iirst and second in the batting averages as they did in 1927. Dempster’s average was 59.26 and Blunt’s 41.43. Congratulations are also extended to R. C.
