WANCANUI CENTRE CLUB MEMBERS’ ANNUAL MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. If the number of new members elected at the annual meeting of members of the Wanganui Central Swimming Club may be taken as an indication of the prospects for the coming season, a successful year is in prospect for the club. There was a good attendance of over thirty members and the president, Mr P. L. Dickson, was in the chair. Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from Mrs Carter, Miss G. Dowdle, and Messrs K. V. Broughton, G. Thrush and A. Walker. The annual report and balance-sheet, were presented and approved by members. The election of officers for,the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr T. E. Thomas; president, Mr P. L. Dickson; vice-presidents, Mrs D. Bonner, Messrs E. M. Silk, J. H. Hill, and H. C. Jenkins, and last season’s vicepresidents re-elected; club captain, W. Ansley; vice-captain, P. Matthews; secretary and treasurer, G. Allen; assistant secretary and treasurer, C. Thrush; committee, Mrs Watts, Miss P. Gilbert and K. Broughton, B. Hunter, G. Thrush, S. McKinley, A. Walker and L. Bonner; delegates to Centre, Messrs P. L. Dickson and C. A. Bullivant; hon. auditor, Mr H. W. Cooper; delegate to R.L.S.S. Mr A. Walker;-club coach, Mr C. A. Bullivant; handicapper, Mr K. V. Broughton. The following new members were elected: J. Osborne, P. Tanner, J. Hunter, B. Deere, H. Jones, A, Curtayne, and B. Hunter. It was decided that the club night be held on a Wednesday. The matter of deciding on the date for the club’s opening splash was left to the incoming committee.
