FOOTBALL CLUB BALL. A success both socially and financially, the ball held by the Ohingaiti Footwall Club on Friday evening iost proved a source of enjoyment to local dancers and to many visitors from Hunterville, Mangaonoho and the surrounding districts. To music supplied by Hartley ’s Orchestra, dancing was kept up till the early hours, and all voted the wail one of tne best yet held. The ladies 7 committee are deserving jf hearty congratulations on the excellence of the supper and the appearance of both the supper room ana tne haa. ooth tastefully uecorated witn the ciuw colours and with greenery. Extras were piayed by Messrs Feina, A. and L Linton and N. Bartlett. Messrs W. 1). Uavies, A. Linton and W. Nelmes periormed the duties of M.C’s to the satisfaction of all. During the evening opportunity was taken to present club trophies as follows: — Mr R. K. Simpson’s medal for best xurward in team, to F. Mclntyre. Mr Charles’ medal for most improved junior player, to J. Powell. LADIES’ MINIATURE BIFLE CLUB. The scores for the final shoot for the trophy presented by Mr W. O’Brien, Hunterville, was held on Thursday last. The individual scores are:— Mrs L. D. Coleman .... 32 5 33 Miss E.' Linton 30 2 32 Mrs Thompson 30 2 32 Miss C. Thompson ...... 30 1 31 Miss T. Burgess 23 5 28 Miss N. Thompson .... 22 6 28 In this competition, Miss Linton won Mr O’Brien’s trophy, and Mrs Thompson’s trophy for second was won by Miss C. Thompson. The club commences on Friday next, a competition for a trophy presented by Miss E. Linton.
