WAVERLEY

APBON AFTERNOON. The ladies of the plain work stall of the annual St. Stephen’s Church bazaar to be held in November, arranged a most delightful apron and tea-towel afternoon in St. Stephen’s Hall last Friday afternoon. There was a very good attendance, every person being asked to bring either a tea-towel or apron. At afternoon tea-time, there was a parade of the aprons made, and the prizes awarded to Mrs Lovegrovet by popmar vote. All aprons were plain working ones, fancy ones being-barred for competition. The ladies responsible fop the afternoon were thus provided with a wonderful array of aprons for their stall, and as the result of the donation of produce, also made some fifteen shillings to help towards the stall. The dinner which has been raffled during the past two weeks, was drawn during the afternoon, Mrs W. Matthews proving the winner, with the number 117. Musical items were given during the afternoon, and were greatly enjoyed. GOLF. Championship games have been flayed a great deal during the past week, the following being some of the results:— Senior Championship: S. Aiken won from H. Bradmore, and W. Muir won from E. Dallison. Aiken and Muir will therefore play off in the final. Junior Championship: W. Higginbotham won from G. Aiken. A medal round was played on Saturday last, the fololwing being the best
