A NOVEL STALL
An original and novel idea was adopted by the St. John’s Hill committee to augment the funds of rhe Plunket candidate. A stall for the sale of health foods and wholemeal cookery was held in the Victoria League rooms yesterday and proved a great success. A most tempting array of delectable cakes, pies and puddings, made from either wheatmeal or wholemeal were on display. The splendid variety of sponge sandwiches, puddings, tarts and other health cookery sent in by Airs J. Coull. attracted, a great deal of attention, as also did' the display of biscuits sent in by Airs Ding. Good business was done at the stalls and many recipes for health foods sold. During the afternoon short addresses were given on health foods. Competitions were held and afternoon tea was served at tables arranged on one side of the room. Those helping at the stalls were Airs Norman Bain, Mrs C. Treadwell, Airs Tosswill, Mrs McDougal. Airs Grieve, Airs Ballingall and Miss AL Parkes.
