SOCIAL AFTERNOON

i A well-attended social afternoon was held in Trinity Church Parlour on Thursday. The room was prettily decorated with spring flowers. A splendid programme arranged by Alias Newton, was given, every item being enthusias- | tically received. Songs were given by Airs P. Lewis, Airs S. W. Rankin, and the Misses Robinson and Jean Harmon, pianoforte solos by Airs Abernethy, humorous recitations by Airs S. J. Goodey, and vocal duets by Alias McNiven and Miss Browning. Tea was served by Mesdames Howell, S. Jones, G. Hardy and Miss G. Jones. The cake stall, presided over by Alesdames T. R. Ellis, Lewis, Bassett and F. Carpenter, ' did good business. The chair was taken by the Rev. E. T. Cox and Mrs W Hutchens played the accompaniments.
