TENNIS CLUB DANCE
Although there has been many dances held of late there was a good attendance at the Elrick on Saturday evening when Gonville Tennis Club held another of its series of dances which proved to be as successful as the previous ones. Excellent music for dancing was provided by Stone’s Orchestra aud supper was served cabaret fashion. Included among the dancers were: Mrs E. B. BRING AND BUY AFTERNOON A very successful ‘•bring and buv” was held in St. Laurence’s j • huich Hall on Saturdav in aid of the ■ehureh funds. The hall uas crowded | and as a result of the good business done at the stalls the funds will be i considerably augmented. Canon Wil- • liains, in a brief speech, welcomed the visitors. During the afternoon a de ightful programme was given. The Rev. Lambert and Airs Lambert con tribufed monologues and the children ••f the Putiki Mission School, under the •iporvisioTi of Mr Takarangi, gave poi lances and Maori songs, which were greatly appreciated by the large audi“iive.
