YMCA

A most successful afternoon was given in support of th© city boy candidate, Ewan Jones, on Friday, August 7, in connection with the popular boy contest. The Rev. E. T. Cox ably occupied the chair and in a few well chosen words explained the objects of the campaign, intimated that the barometer was steadily rising and invited future support. An enjoyable programme, arranged by Airs Will Hutchens, was much appreciated. Owing to the inability of the Alayoress to be present, Airs Byrnes (deputy-Alayoressj attended, and was presented with a | bouquet by Airs J. A. Hair, president j of the Auxiliary, after which a dainty I supper was served and th- afternoon 1 concluded by the sale of sweets and | cakes, which helped to swell the votes. ■
