Dear Wendy, —As it is a good while since 1 wrote to you last, I think T had better begin again. 1 have been trying to find j some news, but there is none at usual. We ' have snow on the ground up here, and it J is quite thick in places, at. least it was this . morning, but most of it in gone now, and I ' arn not a bit sorry either. Is it. very cold j down your way, Wendy? I bet. you don’t i like getting out of bed the#;e cold morniftgs: I f know I don’t. Would you please ask "Charlston Chuckles” when is she going to write to me, also do you know what has happened to “Orange Blossom Lady"? She has not written to me for a long time, and I would love to have a letter from her. There is a dance in Mataroa to-morrow night. I would like to go to it but. I suppose it will be wet. Do you go to many dances, Wendy ? I think I had better cease my scribbling, or you will Jose your eyesight, trying to read it. With love to fill. —From “QUEEN OF SILVER.” Mataroa. I am pleased to have your welcome letter, dear. I began to wonder if you were ever going to write again. How cold it must have been with snow upon the ground. We lia<l some cold weather here, too. I will ask “Charlston Chuckles.” No. 1 have no idea what has become of "Orange Blossom Lady." I attend quite a few dances in the season for f am very fond of them. Wr’te soon again, won’t you. dear ? --- Wendy.
