THE ECONOMIC COMMITTEE [British Official Wireless.] Deceived Alay 17, 5.5 p.m. RUGBY, May 16. In order to facilitate an arrangement reached at the Imperial Conference that representation in the United Kingdom and the Dominions on the Imperial Economic Committee should hence forward be on the same basis, Lord Snell, Sir Arthur Balfour and Air Blundell tendered their resignations from the committee, pending a further review of the position. In the light of the results of proposed conference at Ottawa, the Prime Minister has appointed Sir Sydney Chapman, the Government’s chief economic adviser, to be one of the representatives of the British Government in the United Kingdom on the committee, and Sir Thomas Allen. one of the United Kingdom representatives on lhe committee since its inception, has agreed to continue to serve.
