PUBLIC SPIRIT. A,f the Town Board meeting on Tuesday, the chairman reported that Mr N. Hyde, lessee of a Town Board section opposite the Children’s Home, proposed to build a paddling pool, plant shrubs, and place swings on the ground, throwing the section open to the public. The bridge would also be. strengthened and the back portion, opened as a camping ground for motorists. The Board passed a resolution approving Air Hyde's action, members expressing pleasure at Air Hyde’s public spirit. Permission was given to use water subject to the supervision of the foreman. PERSONAL. Mrs IL S. Halrick, of Wanganui, is visiting Otairi. Miss Gladys Wilton is on a visit to Wellington. Aliss Winifred Hare, of Wellington, is on a visit Io Mrs Kilmister, (Jngo Road. Airs Eit<h, of Christchurch, is visiting her daughter, Mrs (I, AlcKae, Hunterville. Air IL Hunt, manager of the local branch of the Union Bank, has resumed duty after his annual vacation. Mr and Airs F. England left recently lor Australia, en route for the Ohl • ountry, where they will spend a holiday. Mrs T. A. Duncan and Miss Duncan were entertained at afternoon tea at the Bowling Pavilion on Wednesday prior to their departure for the Old Country. During the afternoon, 3frs Duncan was presented with an autograph book, and Miss D. Howie handed her a handsome bouquet. 31r and Mrs Duncan, Aliss Duncan and Messrs AV. and E. Duncan will leave Huntervillc on Sunday next for Auckland where they will catch the Home boat. FOOTBALL. Hunterville seniors will play a friendly match with Pirates (Taihape)
