A magisterial examination of Madame Hanau on Sunday resulted io a detailed denunciation of Anzuetd, whom she accused of receiving 680,000 francs and yet demanding more, threat cning ruin. When she refused, Li rumour began newspaper attacks. Hanau also stated she gave Amaid, as intermediary, 1,000,000 francs for the purpose of stopping thc attacks in Le Journal. After a confrontation with Hanau and Amard, the latter was arrested on the Magistrate’s crdcr.
