CARD EVENING (Special “Chronicle” Service.) A very successful evening was hold at Airs J. Phillips’ residence on Wednesday evening in aid of the Country Queen. There was a very good attendance, and following are the prize winners: Bridge. Mrs F. E. Wilson and Mrs Leach, Airs Ryan and Air lan Dickson, Euchre: Airs W* Watson and Air A. Fowler; Mrs A. Macdonald, box of chocolates; father Geraghty, fruit bowl. BOWLING The official opening of the bowling green took place on Wednesday in glorious weather and the greens were in tip top order. There was a large atendance of members and their wives, also visitors. The president, Air D. Watkins, spoke of the good work their late member, Mr J. Fletcher, whose death occurred this week, had done, and requested those present to observe the one minute silence in his respect. A dainty afternoun, tea was provided by the members' wives. Games.—Skipp' D. Watkins, C. Jenkins, J. Mclntosh, O’Donoughe, J?’. Thompson and S. Dickinson each registered a win. A challenge by ±‘. O’Donoughe and R- Bunker, to D. Watkins and S. .Dickinson (last season champions and holders of the gold buttons) to an early match. CROQUET The croquet greens are in perfect order and there has been a great deal of play this week. {Several ladder matches have been played and interest is very keen. Alatches will commence after the busy season of shearing is finished, and members have more time to get in from the country.
