BULLS

COURT NEWS. [ Special “Chronicle” Service. ] Messrs E. H. Levett and J. Campion, J. 'sP., presided over a short sitting of the Court yesterday morning, w r hen Joseph Smith, alias John Afichael Smith, pleaded guilty to a charge of discharging a stone in a public place, thereby damaging a plate-glass window in Mr V. Edhouso's drapery shop in High Street. A fine of £1 was inflicted and accused was ordered to pay £6 costs for the window. MOTOR COLLISION. A collision occurred on Thursday evening, about 8 o’clock, in the vicinity of the Rangitikci Dairy Company’s factory between a service car driven by Douglas AlcGregor, of Wanganui, and a car driven by H. Af. Tagg, of Ashhurst. The latter’s car received the most damage, having the two front wheels and the axle broken, but the service ear was able to proceed to Wanganui. BULLS PUBLIC LIBRARY. The following books have recently been added to the Bulls Public Library: “The Tenant of Cromlech Cottage," Joseph Hocking; “Now East, Now West,” Sustan Ertz; “God and the Groceryinan.” Hamid Bell Wright; “ Sangusto, ” Cecil Roberts; “Patricia Brent Skinisteo,” Herbert Jenkins; “Heart of Rachel,” Kathleen Norris; “The Red Thumb Mark,” Austin Freeman; “The Crippled Lady of Peribonka,” James Curwood; “The Romance of Nikko Cheyne,” Roland Pertwec; “Spell of Sarnoci,” Baillie Reynolds.

INTRIGUE AND MYSTERY. Intrigue and mystery certainly go hand in hand with romance, but a new note is struck in “Convoy,” at the Bulls Town Hall this evening, by taking the leading female character (Miss Dorothy Afackaill) through all walks of life. The story calls for Miss Afackaill to register every emotion possible to be registered by a camera. It takes her from the luxury of a mansion to the kitchen of a reformatory. It drags her from happiness to despair, and misery, and lands her back again to a new found joy in the arms of an understanding lover who doubted at first, but found the truth.
