BANGITIKEI HUNT CLUB I Special ’•ChronJew" aarvuie, i The annual meeting of the Rangitikei Hunt Club will be held in the Alarton Jockey Club’s rooms on Tuesday, April 3, at 3 p.m.. when the report and balance sheet will be presented and the election of officers take place. FOOTBALL The Athletic club’s first practice match of the season will be played on the park this afternoon when the third graidv fifteen meet a team from Feildmg. The home team will be: R. Baker, J. AfcKcnzie, R. AlcDonald, R. Whale, ,L. Barlow, C. Algie, R. Nesbit, Al. Muir ,J. Winidleburn, G. Hannan, T. Calkin, T. Loo; reserves; E. Mcivor and D. Hurley. Efforts to arrange a practice match between Alarton and Bulls have been unsuccessful owing to Alarton seniors being unable to raise a team. It is unlikely that any practice game will be played before Easter. GREATFORD ATHLETIC CLUB’S DANCE On Tuesday evening next the opening dance of a series will be held in Air H. T. Whale's granary near the Cliff Road railway station, under the auspices of the Greatford Athletic Club. The prices of admission are 2s 6d and Is and; good floor, music and supper are guaranteed. RICHARD DIX IN “MAN POWER” Richard Dix has gone in for a newtype of adventure—mountain climbing in a caterpillar tractor. He tells us he had enough experience driving one of the big machines after only two weeks to make him feel confident he could operate the thing up the precipitous slopes of the Afalonc Dam, north-east of Sonora, territory where pack mules usually furnish the only means of transportation. Pictures of the kind Dix makes arc strenuous work. The scenes made fr m the remarkable climax of “Alan Power,” Paramount’s new production which reaches the Alarton Town Hall this evening.
