HUNTERVILLE
MAN FOUND HANGING [ Special “ Chronicle ’’ Service ] A middle-aged man named Hetrick, hailing from Wellington, was found hanging in a cowbail on Air Flower-s property at Hunterville on Sunday. Hetrick called at Air Flower’s place on Thursday last and said lie had been asked to call there by a sister of Air Flower. He seemed worried and depressed, but gave no indication of suicide. Whe Air Flower went out yesterday after midday to ask Hetrick to go for a walk he found him dead. The deceased was a returned soldier, having spent four years at the war. ITe was about 45 years of age. His bank book showed that he possessed £lOOO and he had made his will, leaving his property to his brothers and sisters. An inquest was held yesterday before Air F. C. Wilson, District Coroner, when evidence was given by Air and Airs Flower, Dr. Mitchell and Air A. E, Stevens. A verdict was returned that deceased committed suicide by hanging.
Deceased had brothers and sisters in New Zealand, but at the time of the inquest their whereabouts was not known.
