CITY ATHLETES’ TRAVELS JOURNEYS TO OTHER CENTRES Athletes and swimmers in this city seem well on the way to establishing a reputation for journeying to centres a considerable distance afield to compete. at sports gatherings. To-morrow a party of 30 Gonville swimmers will compete at Pahiatua anti 20 athletes and cyclists will race at Bulls sports. Local swimmers this season have competed at Palmerston North and Feihling and the athletes recently made a trip en masse to AVellington, parties also making a round of district sports gatherings. Two Wanganui runners during the recent holidays travelled considerably in the. South Island and raced merely for the sport at various meeting--. Four local cyclists now propose travelling to Nelson to compete at a sports event there on April 17.
