It is understood that a satisfactorycompromise is expected shortly,' whereby the commercial treaty negotiations between Germany and Japan, which have been at a standstill for several months on account of the red dye stuff question, will be concluded. It is understood that the terms are likely to include:— Firstly, a gentlemen’s argoement making red dye stuffs, which are specified, restricted re-imports. Secondly, a fixed tariff on all imports from Germany according to whether the goods are procurable in Japan or not.
