WOMEN REPLACE MEN
TREND OF THE TIMES LONDON, Oct. 18. A curious new autumn type in London streets is women muffin sellers, who have largely replaced men. Girls carry baskets in their arms instead of the familiar tray balanced on a man’s head. The 11 Daily Express” comments that man ’s sphere is being more and more invaded by women. It recalls that the Lord Chief Justice’s car is now driven by a woman, while there have been many recent appointments of women to the directorates of city firms.
